Card making ain’t easy!
Friday dawned bright and early! Spent the morning surfing net, reading blogsâ?¦went out to ta-pau lunch for hubby, who was coming back to have lunch with me me me!! =)
At 1.30pm, I drove off to mvoâ??s house to pick her up as we were going together for the class. I finally managed to see Buckyâ?¦heâ??s soooooo cute! Such soft fur! And the droopy earsâ?¦*heart melts*. And he’s so selamba, unlike M&M who are hyper all the time. And his nose twitches too. *heart melts again*
We made it to The Curve just in time for our 2.30pm class at Papier. We were the only two people taking the class (another lady didnâ??t show up)â?¦yayyyâ?¦get to hog all the tools. During the one and a half hours, we made two cardsâ?¦and let me tell youâ?¦it ainâ??t easy! Lots of cutting and pastingâ?¦but we donâ??t use scissors or glue. High-tech oredi lorâ?¦dangerous looking slicing blades and easy-to-tear double sided tape. And brads. Yes. As in Brad Pitt Brad. Itâ??s little thumbtack-like stuff that you poke through the paper as embellishments. Best of all, I finally learned embossing! Not easy eitherâ?¦thereâ??s a skill involved, people! From rubbing that weird cloth to get rid of static, pressing the glue pad on the stamp, positioning the stamp on the paper, pressing evenly and hard enough to transfer the glue, pouring enough of the embossing powder on the design, heating it up enough to melt the powder evenlyâ?¦yikes! As expected, I made mistakesâ?¦heheâ?¦=)

After the class, we went up to Pets Safari to buy rabbit food for our bunnies. Mvo bought two huge bags of pellets, while I stocked up on the milk biscuits that M&M love so very very much. We grabbed a quick bite at Ikeaâ??s fast food counterâ?¦hot dogs! The sausage was very nice, but the bun was a bit hard. Anyways, I gobbled down the whole thing cause my tummy was already screaming out for food despite my heavy lunch earlier!
From Ikano, we drove to Bangsar Village for our 5.30pm mani/pedi appointment. Surprisingly, the shop was packed! We waited about 20 minutes before we were shown to our seats. As with most of my pedi sessions, I usually drift off to sleep halfway in the middle of the sessionâ?¦heheâ?¦.so comfy. I decided not to use back the apple green colour that I used the previous time (too many comments peppered with gangrene, incredible hulk, or just â??why so green?!?!?!), and went back to my predictable pink. Mvo got a gorgeous rose-color polish for both her nails and toesâ?¦very sweet and demure!

Dinner was at Mizu with WS. Poor WS was sick (and looked a little grumpy, I might addâ?¦*grin*). Well, mvo and WS shared a plate of sashimi, while I had a California Hand Roll. For mains, mvo had cold soba noodles, WS went for unagi and rice, and I had Prawn Tempura with rice. Greedy olâ?? meâ?¦I ordered another bowl of chawanmushi (egg custard), and then the three of us had a scoop of green tea ice cream eachâ?¦! My tummy was groaning for having to expand so much…

Pixel was on his way back from a business trip at Bangkok, and mvo and WS were planning to fetch him from KL Sentral, so after dinner, we all came back to my place to wait. WS brought along Ticket to Ride, but he ended up hogging my computer for the whole night looking at techie stuff instead…=)
And of course when hubby got back, I proudly showed off the two cards that I made…=)

I proudly showed off mine to my mom and she said “Why so expensive!” (for the class). So did Pixel!
On hindsight, I do think it’s overly priced. Pixel reckons, and I agree, that they should price the classes much cheaper in order to encourage or ‘hook’ people to buy their supplies. E.g. 30rm a class with 15rm rebate to buy supplies! So that people will buy and buy again. What do you think? I’m itching to feedback this to Papier! (Good business advice for them plus I get to take the 2nd much cheaper class and buy some paper hehe)….

mvo: Hmm…you are quite right! The materials doesn’t cost that much, and maybe if we bought a book, we might also be able to learn up the techniques…heheh…=) Good idea!
Silly Wabbit: Yes they do! And M&M loves it! They will literally snatch it out of my hands! I have some photos up at my photo album, photoblogum, and the most recent photos are at this post here.
