Is it worth it?

Fri, 31 Mar 2006, 11:05 pm

This past week has been horrendous. Absolutely horrendous. I’m hanging on to this job by a thread. A very thin one. Work has never made me emotional enough to walk out of a meeting room. That was Tuesday. A piece of news I heard on Wednesday made me break down in the car on the way home.

I’m physically exhausted, mentally drained.

Someone show me the light at the end of the tunnel coz I really can’t see it.

And it’s back to work tomorrow.

This can’t be all there is to life.

Mahjong Saturday

Sun, 26 Mar 2006, 01:07 am

What fun! A mani/pedi session with M ended up as tea (with cheese, crackers and grapes!) at our apartment followed by a two hour mahjong session!! Woohoo….thanks, M & ES for the lovely Saturday evening…=))

And oh oh…we tried a new place for dinner…Truffles Cafe at Ikano Power Centre. I’d read somewhere that it serves good Rosti (hubby loved the Rosti at Oliver’s Super Sandwiches @ Bangsar…the only outlet that serves Rosti!)…hubby said Truffles’s was not too bad. I had Spaghetti Olio Aglio…pretty yummy if not for the capsicum…sigh. Would like to go back to try their brownies and chocolate fondue…yumyum!

Work update…the flood of people leaving seems to have stopped…though so many people are going to the competitor bank that some of us are wondering if it would be easier to just ask everyone to stay and change the name of our bank…*nyeknyek*…but seriously…work has been absolutely crazy. I’m skipping lunch, either staying late or sending work home to do, going back on weekends…horrible. If I don’t get more resources soon, I swear I’m going to resign again. Yes. Again. No matter what anyone says (”so since you’ve excepted the offer, I want to see how long you’re going to stay…”….yes…from the mouth of that same idiot…)…!! I have some deliverables to hand in by Tuesday…but this weekend, I’m not even gonna look at work…so there!

Desperate Housewives Season 2 is starting soon (have been refraining myself from buying the DVD set!)…ANTM is ending soon…haven’t been watching CSI or Amazing Race due to lack of time time time…and I’m so glad Chicken Little got voted out of American Idol…*applauds*

And am thinking of migrating to WordPress…any people who has tried both MT and WP before? Do tell me your experiences…=))

It’s finally Saturday!

Sat, 18 Mar 2006, 12:03 am

What a long week this has been. I feel mentally and physically exhausted…=(

We’ll be going back to Ipoh tomorrow afternoon till Sunday for ‘Cheng Beng‘ (All Souls Day)…am actually glad to get away from KL for awhile. Am gonna bring my camera back with me…would like to take some photos of the temple and the surroundings. Will be back on Sunday afternoon to attend a colleague’s wedding the same evening…

And just to get this out of my system once and for all (major rant coming…)…even though the person I’m ranting about doesn’t know about this blog and probably won’t ever read it. How DARE you say something like that to me? I could sue you for that, I really could. If you stopped one sentence earlier, I could’ve at least taken what you said as advice, even though I still feel that you did not understand nor tried to understand the situation that I was in, but at least I could’ve looked at it from the angle that you were trying to be a friend. But that was stepping wayyyyyy over the line. Oh no, that was stepping so far over the line that if you looked back, you wouldn’t even be able to see the line at all!! And what is wrong with changing my mind? What is so BLOODY WRONG about changing my mind?!? Did you try to look at things from my perspective? Do you understand the responsibilities that I’ve been asked to take up? I respected you, I really did. And I valued our friendship. Yes. PAST TENSE. Are you so noble that you would work for free?? What I’ve been offered is equivalent to the responsibilities that I’ve been asked to take up…what’s so wrong about that? Do you think everyone works for free? Do you think my father is so damn rich that I don’t have to work? THINK AGAIN. Since they offered and I felt it was worth it, what’s wrong with that?!? Did it even occur to you that with people leaving, this team is on the brink of collapse? That this is not a good time to see my decision through? Or do you want to see this team collapse and see him fail? Is that what you had in mind? Well, I won’t play into your hands, if that was what you had planned. And so, the answer to your first question is: Yes, it can. And the answer to your second? Go F-OFF. Ugh.

*deep breath*
