superman.jpgBrandon Routh is sizzling hot. Talk about chiselled good looks. *swoon*

Superman Returns turned out to be less of an action movie than I expected, but I still liked it. I grew up watching Superman I and II (the other two can’t be seriously considered as Superman movies!!), and Superman was my childhood hero (I’m not ashamed to admit I like men in tights!). So being able to watch this, in a sense, ‘remake’ and hearing that familiar theme song gave me serious goosebumps this afternoon.

The only possible complaint that I would have about casting Brandon Routh would be that he looks a tad bit young compared to Christopher Reeve in the first two Supermans. And while Kate Bosworth is definitely prettier than Margot Kidder, her (Kate Bosworth) Lois Lane certainly wasn’t feisty enough. Kevin Spacey, however, was spot-on casting for Lex Luthor. And I loved the way they inserted the now-famous phrase of “It’s a bird, it’s a plane, etc.” into the dialogue!

But like a friend said…good or bad, I would watch it anyways, though luckily it was the former rather than the latter, IMHO. And I would’ve thought that this movie would’ve been billed as the most highly anticipated summer movie, not Da Vinci Cod Code.

So do go buy your tix and relive your childhood, ie. those good ol’ days when RTM2 or TV3 used to air this show every other school holiday…hehe…=)

PS: We sat next to a couple of annoying idiots today. Super jakun idiots who sat in row D who totally deserves to lose their voice and their mobile phones. A guy who sat in row E11 who was sniffling away the whole time (if I catch your flu bug, I’m gonna bring down some colorful curses on your head). And a family who sat somewhere between E7 to E10 whose stupid brat was making so much noise and running about the cinema. Sigh.

Cathay Cineplex @ Cineleisure

Mon, 26 Jun 2006, 07:36 pm

Just caught a movie at the new Cathay Cineplex @ Cineleisure Mutiara D’sara.

Verdict?

Go to 1U’s GSC people. Nicer seats, not freezing cold and better toilets. Oh…and call me picky but at least I don’t think they (GSC) spell “Fast and Furious 3: Tokyo Drift” as “Fast and Furious 3: Tokyo Driff” on their website…hehe…=P

And y’know what takes the cake? When we booked the tix online, the price was RM8. When we went to pay for it, the girl at the counter insisted it was RM10 cause it’s a new show. But on their price list at the counter, all shows on Mon, Tues and Thurs (I think it was Thurs!) were priced at RM8 and nowhere was it written that new shows are RM10. I know it’s a diff of RM2, but be consistent lar. And you’d think that with the place being so new and all, they would have some promotions like cheaper tix or something.

Anyways, enough whinging from me. I’m not planning to go back to that cinema anytime soon, and as for the rest of the building, I think I’ll only set foot in it in…oh…say 6 months time?

Oh yeah…I just can’t help adding this: The Curve was having some footie promo thingy where you’re supposed to count the number of footballs in a glass enclosure. The caption (and this was all over their little promo area) read: Count The Ball (I have proof…I took a snapshot with my phonebut I’m just too lazy to upload it now…). So I suppose if I submitted my entry with the answer ‘One’, I’d win?

Edit: Here we go…

Edit: I somehow lost this picture while transferring the posts to my new website! :???:

Coming to you live from NZ!

Thu, 15 Jun 2006, 12:49 pm

Never realized how absolutely dependent I was on the Internet!! Luckily, this hotel has free broadband…woohoo!!

NZ is gorgeous…and super duper cold! We’re now at Christchurch on the South Island (and I’m freezing my butt off!), and we’ll probably be seeing lots and lots of snow in the next few days enroute to Queenstown.

Anyways, no time to blog, but here are some of the photos (we’ve taken 500+ per person, and we’re not even halfway through our holiday yet!!) for your viewing pleasure…=)

PS: Hannah @ Huppypie, if you’re reading this…sorry I didn’t manage to contact you when we were at Wellington. No free internet at the hotel, so I couldn’t check my email (duh…didn’t occur to me to copy your number down before I left!). Nevertheless, we had a great time walking around the city centre (plus a scary night drive up Mt. Victoria!).
