I’m so Monica
Not Lewinsky. Monica, from Friends.
When I first installed WP on this website, I ended up playing around with the pages and posting some test posts. For those who know WP, you’d know that each page and each post gets an ID. As of yesterday, I had three pages with ID #3, #12 and something else, while my post IDs have gone all haywired. And I still haven’t managed to import my MT posts yet (officially gave up as of 11pm yesterday).
Well, I couldn’t stand the thought of my pages having messed up IDs…it’s just so…messy! So I spent the rest of last night deleting and reinstalling a fresh copy of WP.
Then.
I realized that if I were to start posting new posts, and at the same time, manually copy my old posts from Always, Me., my post IDs will go even more haywire…I’d have old posts with IDs bigger than my new posts.
So I started creating draft posts to ‘book’ the post IDs in advance. 320 draft posts to be exact.
At first, I entered the date of the old posts as the title. Halfway through, I just started entering the post number. Then, I accidentally pressed ‘Save’ without entering the title. And lo and behold, WP creates a temporary title for you! So I just spent the last 30 minutes pressing the ‘Save’ button…and I’m finally done! Which means I can now start posting new posts.
