Jewelry class: lesson 1 (L3)

Wed, 20 Sep 2006, 05:11 pm

Actually, Tuesday’s class was supposed to be the final lesson of level 2…but I begged Derek to let me skip that class and go right into level 3…*grin*

In this class, we learnt how to make a ring using really really thin and pliable wire. Apparently, the same technique can be used to make a tiara! It wasn’t hard to do, but you really have to be careful with the wire…at one point, it poked a little tiny hole in my finger…ouch! The picture doesn’t really show the wirework very well though…

Jewelry class: lesson 7 (L2)

Wed, 20 Sep 2006, 05:01 pm

This was one super-complicated beading class! Don’t think I can reproduce this without the notes (and luckily, we got the notes printed in colour, else we won’t be able to differentiate the beads!)…

Another one that I’d made about a week ago…this time, it’s in purple!

More earrings!

Wed, 20 Sep 2006, 04:50 pm

I’d made these quite some time ago, but didn’t have time to take pics till now.

The first pair were made using leftover beads from the light blue charm bracelet, and paired with pewter colored freshwater pearls…

And the second pair were made using these lovely black round beads and the same freshwater pearls and gun-metal Swarovski crystals. You can’t see it from the photo, but the black round beads gives off an absolutely lovely shimmer under the light…it turns just a little bit translucent!

It’s a circle

Tue, 19 Sep 2006, 11:38 pm

Karma. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. What goes around comes around.

Does it really? And how long before it comes back to bite you in the a$$? A few months? Exactly a year? Longer than that?

Coz if it does, then *someone* I know but never really liked has it coming big time. And if it happens, I’ll have a big smirk on my face coz if it comes back in the same amount that it was given, that someone is not gonna be a happy puppy for quite some time. And I can’t help but feel glad.

That aside…

After blogging last night, I watched one episode of SATC. And hubby fed me Macadamia Brittle ice-cream - the sweet bits that I like. So it ended up as a good night after all.

But this morning, I couldn’t decide what to wear…and I ended up burning one of my favourite MNG tops that I bought a year ago cause I was in a hurry. I have three of the same ones in different colours and I burnt my favourite one. Sheesh. Well, not really burnt…the iron was too hot so the material kinda got stuck to the iron.

I’m trying to think positive though…so I didn’t throw it away though. This weekend, I’m going to try to see if I can get the same marks all over the top using the iron. Then I’ll have a new top!

Either that, or I’ll have to buy a new iron. We’ll see :-P
