Movie review: Not a tear in sight

Maybe I was disappointed coz I had high expectations for this show. I’d expected spectacular action + heart-rending drama.
Action? Nada.
Drama? Nada.
2 painstakingly slow hours with Nicholas Cage trapped underneath the rubble complete with confusing flashbacks and a giggle-inducing scene of Jesus with a water bottle? Check.
I found the show to be…soul-less. Cold. I couldn’t feel for the characters, I really couldn’t. And the scenes of the crash and the collapse of the towers were footage that we’d seen shown repeatedly on CNN, BBC, etc. 5 years ago.
Yes, re-watching the collapse still evokes the same feelings of horror that humans could do something like this to other humans, but what I felt during the movie for the people that perished on September 11…it was from remembering the attacks, not from what watching the movie itself. I guess that’s what I meant when I said that it was soul-less.
And good god…Nicholas Cage?!? With a moustache?? I found it hard to swallow my Chicken flavoured Twisties.
You’d be better off surfing the net for pictures, stories, etc. of 9/11 then watching this. Seriously.
