Of bath products and such
I’m a Shokubutsu girl. Green tea extract, to be exact…
As vain as I profess to be, when it comes to shower gels and shampoo, I never really bothered…in fact, if I didn’t highlight my hair (which led me to be introduced to the L’oreal range, followed by Sebastian, followed by the current one that I use now which has a name that I can never remember), I would probably be still using my trusty J&J shampoo (no more tears, k?)! As for shower gels, I usually just follow what hubby uses, though once in a blue moon, I’d indulge in a tube of Body Shop’s Strawberry Body Scrub…but more for the smell than the scrub, I have to admit! And more often than not, after once or twice, that tube will end up lying unused on the bathroom shelf.
Recently though, I’ve found a liking for products from L’Occitane (will someone tell me how to pronounce this word properly?). I’ve always noticed this shop whenever I go to shopping malls, but never bothered to walk in to browse around. Anyways, a few months back, my friends bought me a bottle of Lavender Bath & Shower Gel, Body Milk and Linen Water for my birthday.

For almost two months or so, I only used the linen water (or rather, my cleaning lady saw it and happily sprayed it over everything she ironed, finishing almost quarter of the bottle in one go!) while the body milk and shower gel stayed unused in the cabinet. Not because I didn’t like it, but I was trying to finish the current body cream that I was using: Skin Food Green Tea Body Cream. I used it when I was in NZ and it’s really good but unfortunately, it’s too thick to be used here in humid KL…still, waste not want not, right?
Anyways, as a farewell present for one of my colleagues, I decided to get her some stuff from L’Occitane. I ended up buying a bottle of Organic Lavender Body Lotion for her, and I liked it so much that I treated myself to one bottle as well.

I currently keep it at my desk in the office to use on my hands as I often bite my nails and the lotion helps me to stop that bad habit (not too successfully, but I like to pretend it helps…), plus, it keeps my hands soft.
And I found that I liked the smell so much, I decided to start using the body milk (thus abandoning my Skin Food Green Tea Body Cream).
And then the shower gel (bye bye Shokubutsu).
And finally, I succumbed and bought a tub of Shea Butter Ultra Rich Scrub. Containing crushed walnut shells, it’s heaven to use as it’s grainy enough to really exfoliate and the scent is lovely. I used it when I showered last night, and my skin was so soft and smooth after.

And so…my vanity score gets upped another notch!

It’s pronounced as it is “Loc-ci-tane“. A frenchman sitting next to me on the flight from Kul-Mel corrected me. (I used to pronounce it as Le-Oc-ci-tane, bahasa baku mah!)

Masterkenzo: Hahah…I know! It’s such a bad habit, and I’ve been doing it since young! The only time I managed to stop was for my wedding…now, that’s true vanity, I tell ya!
