Nando, nando nando nando…
On principle, I dislike Nandos. Don’t ask me why, it’s just me. Whenever I walk past Nandos with hubby, I’ll always mutter “nandosuxnandosuxnandosux” just for the heck of it. Actually, I do that when I walk past Kenny Rogers as well…hehe…
Hubby usually dares me to say it out loud in front of the waiters who stand outside with the menus. Me, being the little peri-peri chicken that I am, of course refuse.
I also refuse to put even one foot into their shop, choosing to stand at the doorway as hubby goes in (he loves it, by the way!) to ta pau. He finds it amusing and usually beckons to me from the counter…I’ll just shake my head adamantly and stand firm. Today, I even accused him to be a traitor to the cause (he shot back: What cause?!?!?) who ventured into enemy territory.
Have I eaten there?
Well, yes, I have. On that particular special day when there were four blue moons in the sky, and pigs were flying around dressed like cherubs and carrying harps. It did happen, y’know…you probably just didn’t look up at the sky on that very day…
No, seriously, I have eaten there and I wasn’t very impressed with the food…particularly since I can’t eat anything remotely pepper hot and the non-hot-lemon-something-chicken was just so yucky that I just can’t see what people see in that place.
Anyways, that’s not the point…and I do have one.
The point is…I was so damn hungry today after we ta-paued our dinner (Mdm Kwan nasi lemak for moi!) and I didn’t want to eat my dinner yet coz I wanted to bathe first and get all comfy to watch ANTM that when hubby waved a piece of their potato wedges (I think they call it chips instead of wedges), I succumbed in my weakened state and took a bite. And much as I hate to admit it, it was delicious (hubby always asks me to try it, but on the principle of disliking Nandos, AND on most occasions, potato wedges, I’ve always refused!)! Even more so with the dip it came with. And I took one more piece. And one more. And another one.
Stepped into enemy territory, indeed.

i love nando’s peri-peri chips! ben and i have our weekly dinner ritual … we go to nando’s every thursday for dinner (partially cos’ it’s late-night shopping in the suburb we’re staying in). 2 of my favourite items on their menu is the grilled chicken wrap and supremo chicken burger. hehehe

your post title reminds me of the song that goes “quando quando quando” hehe

Silly Wabbit: Wah…every Thursday! Hmm…I don’t remember ever seeing the chicken wrap or chicken burger here. That’s the other reason why I never eat there…there’s nothing for me to order! Hubby still gives the thumbs-up for the peri-peri chicken, though…*grin*
Carrot: Actually, you’re supposed to sing it to the tune of ‘Nano, nano nano nano…’…remember that super sour sweet with that catchy song? Hmm…maybe not your era…heheh. Ask ES, he probably remembers.

well, i, too, don’t really fancy Nandos. I really can’t find anything about it that’s worth me spending money on it. BUT….my wife loves them…… -_-’…….. so, no choice if she wants me to treat her to a dinner at Nandos :

I have no idea what Nandos is but if I ever see one, I’ll eat there haha!
Do what I do. Walk into another eating establishment with takeaway from another. I did that once with Burger King takeaway in a McD

Pixelator: Yes! The one with the lame animation…I think it comes in yellow packaging. But till now, I’ve never eaten it…
Masterkenzo: Agree! Well, at least my husband ta-paus instead of eatting there…
Carrot: Ahahahaha…you ARE from our era after all…*grin*
Merv: No Nandos where you are? Haha…I can’t believe you did that! Oooo…that’s something fun to try…though if I don’t even dare to tell the waiter that the shop he works in sux, I doubt I’ll ever get around to bringing their competitor’s food in! Eating KFC in Nandos is a tempting thought though…

Hehehe I actually love Nando’s at times… it is kinda a “see the mood” place for me. Their Peri Peri chicken is quite yum!!
But don’t go for any of their bread, it is SO HARD and stale. I didn’t know they had an ad!! heheheh
But I love how you stand your ground!! That just cracks me up!!

Siongee: Haha…no, they don’t actually have an ad, I was just playing around with the name of the shop and that old old tv ad for Nano-Nano sweets…*grin* Yeah, my hubby loves the peri-peri chicken too…but it’s really expensive, isn’t it?!?
