We’d originally wanted to go to Madam Kwans…but couldn’t resist since Shanghai 10 is purportedly famous for it’s Xiao Long Bao :-)

The restaurant is located at the corner of Telawi…err…can’t remember the road number…pfft…it’s on the same row as Baskin Robbins (that I remember!). At one glance, the menu looks remarkably similar to Chef Loong @ SS2. Did they copy Chef Loong since this restaurant is newer? Or is it an already famous restaurant overseas and Chef Loong copied the idea? Is Chef Loong’s twin working in this restaurant? Hmmm….?

Conspiracy theories aside, the food here tastes good! We ordered the xiao long bao, char siew bao, deep fried prawns and mango, banana and red bean katafil thingy (which is one of my favs from CL) and a plate of stir-fried spinach. And a bowl of hot and sour soup (hubby’s). And barley with fu chuk (beancurd sheet). Y.U.M.M.Y.

And for a weekday night, the crowd was quite sizeable!

Considering that this corner shoplot is errr…rather cursed, in my opinion…coz several restaurants/cafes here have all closed down…eg. the super yucky Only Mee (seriously, I tried this place once and totally banned it from my restaurant list forever and ever. I had the worst wan tan mee EVER!) and Gelare…I think Shanghai 10 might be the one that breaks the spell.

Pricewise: RM40+ for the food above

Service: Good

Photos? Errr…lazy to post. :-P

we saw this restaurant not too long ago. the first thing i wondered was why they called it shanghai 10 but come to think of it, i’m glad they didn’t do a literal translation cos shanghai sky would have been kinda weird.
    hehe i know, i’m sort of off-topic :P

    Hi,

actual story is, chef loong sold off his share s in chef loong ss2 to the partner (s)….thn started his own restaurant called shanghai 10 with a new partner…so shanghai 10 is the real chef loong and the one is s2 is not …went to ss2 this monay but they were closed for lunch..i hard they have closed down…

went to shanghai 10 in sg wang just now and bumped into chef loong himself…
