Sanjin Watermelon Frost

Sun, 28 Jan 2007, 09:59 pm

The first person I ever saw using this was my college mate, TC. Somehow, the memory of it just stuck with me, and even weirder…despite countless sore throats, this was the first time I’d ever bought it to try. It comes in a small, cheap-looking bottle…really dodgy, actually…and what you do is to aim it at the back of your throat, give it a squeeze and a puff of the frost thingy will get sprayed out (it looks like assam powder that we usually eat with guavas…).

Anyways, it works. It really does. The first thing you feel is a cold sensation, and then the pain just disappears. IMMEDIATELY. Downside (there always is!)? It’s tastes FREAKING HORRIBLE!!!! The first time I tried it, I screwed up my eyes and gagged. Then I started pacing, going, yuckyuckyuckyuckyuck. Then I drank some water…which does dilute it somewhat…but I really couldn’t stand the herbal, medicinal taste.

The website has this weird story on it’s history and how it’s supposedly made (some ancient secret recipe, apparently!)…but all I can say is, with all this technology, can’t someone make it tastes better??

ewwww i tried the lozenges some time back. it’s HORRIBLE! the remaining lozenges are still sitting somewhere rotting away. :P

Boo_licious: Most of the Guardian branches sells it. I once saw this sold as a tablet/capsule as well…couldn’t find it this time, that’s why I bought the spray. Might be easier to tahan if it’s in a tablet.

Carrot: Haha…I can imagine the taste of the lozenges…yuckers!

I use it for ulcers. WORKS marvellously compared to oral aid and all. Or, I used to dab listerine on ulcers. Hurts like F***!!!! but works :P

Cheekypumpkin, Geekchic: I usually use Bonjela on my ulcers…it stings so bl**dy much that I get tears in my eyes! Maybe I’ll try the Watermelon Frost next time… :-) But Listerine is definitely out…!!

TTI: Haha…herbal tea? Pigs will fly before I drink herbal tea….*grin* Usually when I feel my throat getting abit ‘tight’ (which in my case, is a for-sure sign of sore throat), I just keep on gargling with salt water and drinking loads and loads of water…

Merv: Haha…trust me, you won’t feel deprived after you’ve tasted it…*grin* Anyways, I doubt you’ll ever see it if you don’t look out for it in the pharmacies. Guardian chucks it at the lowest shelf over here!
