Dear Santa,
I’m writing this letter to you early to help you plan ahead (these things can run out of stock and you wouldn’t want to disappoint, would you?). So here’s the deal…I’ll promise to be good for the rest of the year if you can deliver these before the year ends:
One (1) Macbook Pro (with Leopard OS, please)

One (1) iPhone

And if you could throw in some iPods, I’ll be eternally grateful.
Thanks, and Merry Xmas in advance!
McD’s twister fries and mandarin oranges.
Other than that, I’ll collect $200 and pass GO, thankiuverymuch. If I could only just skip the one week leading up to CNY, and the actual first and second (and probably third) day!
I detest…
The unbearably hot weather (it’s frickin’ hot ok?!? I get a headache just driving out in the sun!).
The ‘just stab me twice and put me out of my misery’ CNY songs.
The utter REDness of the decorations…my office looks like tins and tins of red Dulux paint exploded everywhere.
The traffic jams.
Having to leave KL and do all that pointless visiting!
The ‘cannot wash hair on the first day’ tradition.
Someone please fast forward me to 22nd February when I can escape all this madness!
Hubby just bought me with a tub of Haagen Dazs Cookies & Chocolate (yes, chocolate, not cream) ice-cream. I squealed with joy and immediately dug through the kitchen drawer for a dessert spoon. Ahhh…the taste of bittersweet chocolate and cookie bits just melting into a pool of utter yummy-ness…licking the spoon to not waste a single little bit…cold cold delicious ice-cream on a hot hot day. Utter. Bliss.
And I’ll deal with the tummy aches later.
Yes, I’m kinda lactose intolerant. Can’t seem to take in most diary products…including ice-cream. Sucks, I know. But sometimes, I just can’t resist a little bit. And I’ve been hankering after a scoop of this new flavour (part of their chocolate indulgence-something promo) since I tried it a couple of weeks ago (well, not only this particular flavour…I’ve also been craving for Swensen’s Sticky Chewy Chocolate with pineapple topping - that’s my ultimate favourite ice cream - as well as Baskin Robbin’s Jamaica Almond Fudge). But what’s the point of me buying a whole tub if the most I can stomach is…half a scoop?
Ah well…a little indulgence never hurt anyone! *happyhappyjoyjoy*
We’d originally planned to go to Lake Titiwangsa to take some photos of the Eye On Malaysia. I ended up snapping this

from the car because we were stuck in a nearly 30 minute traffic jam at the road surrounding the lake because of the lack of parking spaces. And true to our M’sian nature, despite this year being Visit Malaysia Year and the huge publicity on the Eye On Malaysia, there was a small kebun bunga (flower…err…farm?) right next to the lake which was happily burning rubbish right out in the open. Sheesh.
Anyways, we left the area around 7pm with only one lousy photo and two hungry, rumbling tummies. In a stroke of inspiration, hubby suggested going to a Nong & Jimmy, a Thai BBQ place at Ampang Jaya. I quickly agreed (else it’ll be my job to think of somewhere else to go!). We were first introduced to this place ages ago by hubby’s ex-boss who brought us there for a scrumptious dinner of crabs, prawns and extremely yummy fried rice. Luckily, hubby could remember the way there. I helpfully told him “Don’t count on me to remember, ya…”.
We arrived to find the place buzzing with people. We were lucky as there were still some empty car parking spaces and tables! As soon as we sat down, one of the staff came along to take our order. I left it up to hubby…all I wanted was fried rice and butter prawns! We also ordered the mini fried cruellers (yau char kway) with kaya (you have to order this separately…while the stall is situated within the compound of the restaurant, it’s run by different people). If you’re thinking…yau char kway with kaya?!? Well, trust me, it tastes really good and they sell like hotcakes…there’s a plate on every table.
Anyways, I’ll let the photos do the talking:
Crabs on the hot hot grill (we didn’t order this):

Clams too (we didn’t order this either):

The yau char kway being deep fried:

Tomyam soup:

Grilled squid:

Fried kai lan:

Fried rice:

Butter prawns:

Fried mini yau char kway with kaya:

All that for RM58.
It’s a lovely place to come with friends…you can sit there all night stuffing yourself silly with good food and cheap drinks. Just be prepared to sweat it out abit since it’s open air (got fans lar…).
Tried it? Rate it!

Oh…and the second failed photography expedition was us trying to take photos of KLCC at night after dinner. We circled the whole area searching for a place to park and finally gave up halfway!
