Hong Kong: Dinner @ Aqua
Tried it? Rate it!
On our last night in HK, we were deciding between going for seafood or to a restaurant called Aqua for dinner. Aqua came highly recommended by a friend for the food and the view and as it was just a short walk from our hotel, we decided to give it a try.
Aqua is situated on the 29th and 30th floor of One Peking Road, and offers both Western (Aqua Roma) and Japanese (Aqua Tokyo) dining. All the tables in the restaurant faces Victoria Harbour and the view is absolutely amazing at night. The ambience of the restaurant is great…it’s dimly lit and buzzing with energy, yet most of the tables are small and intimate…quite perfect if you want to impress on a first date! Unfortunately, the dim lighting also meant that most of the photos I took didn’t turn out all too well. (especially photos of the interior…so do check out the website’s gallery instead)..
Service is really good and extremely fast. The food was great, though a bit on the expensive side…in fact, when we made our reservations, we were told that we had to at least order up to HKD300! I suppose it’s to prevent people from just going up to order a drink and sit all night enjoying the view…*grin*. However, I personally feel the meal was well worth the price we paid for it…for that view (especially if you can get a reservation at 8pm coz that’s when the laser show starts at Victoria Harbour!), the ambience, and the food!
Anyways, piccies!

View from our table

Bread basket with garlic mayo(?) dip…the dip was extremely good!

Luscious Lychee: Sweet Chinese lychees with pink grapefruit juice

Cream of forest mushrooms with ricotta cheese dumpling

Poached spiny lobster wrapped in baby spinach leaf with “seme di melone”, Moscato wine and lobster emulsion with buttered pencil leek

For some reason, hubby’s main course is not listed on the website’s menu. All I remember is that it’s Angus steak… ![]()

Dessert was a trio of ice-cream in a bento box. We chose Japanese yuzu, black sesame and Hokkaido red bean. For the more adventurous, the other flavours available are sake, white sesame and white miso, plum liquer, coconut and Japanese pepper (!!!)…and the perennial favourite…green tea.

Stuffed and happy!
