Saturday lunch, mahjong and seafood
So, for those of you who wanted to see pics, my Saturday lunch looked like this:
Back bacon, streaky bacon, sausages, eggs, mushrooms and french toast (not shown)

And to suck up all the oil that are about to consume, some veg (which we didn’t eat in the end!)…

After washing up, we headed over to hubby’s friend’s apartment at Mont Kiara for an afternoon of mahjong! It’s been a loooooong time since I played…and it showed. Yes, I lost lar, what else? Hubby won though…hehe…I think the place he sat got good feng shui!
At 8pm, we headed out to Selayang for dinner. I have absolutely no idea where the place is and what the restaurant is called…all I can remember is that the restaurant is next to a shop where you can buy fresh seafood, and then they’ll bring it over to the restaurant to be cooked any way you want it. No piccies coz I forgot to bring my camera along. Besides, we were so hungry by the time the food arrived that I doubt I would’ve had a chance to take any photos…
Anyways…we had…
That soupy-soup thingy with salted vege and fried fish, salt and pepper fried eel, seong tong lala (if you want to be posh, it’s actually called American Clams), cheese baked oysters, fried fish with ginger and spring onion (this was really good!), crabs with fried minced garlic and chilli, fried lotus root and snowpeas, stewed pork feet, steamed prawns and fried rice.
No, don’t fall off your chairs yet. There were 10 of us sharing the food.
Then again, all 10 of us were groaning and rubbing our tummies by the end of the meal…
Total bill came up to around RM500, ie. RM50 per person. Doesn’t seem that expensive for so much food, right? However, the raw seafood only costs around RM250. Minus off the rice, veg and pork…looks like we were charged almost RM200 just for the cooking bit! Well, can’t really complain though, since the food did taste really good…

sooyin, that selayang place is called beihai or it could be chef tam as there are 2 around that area. Chef tam is a corner shop while beihai is in the middle of the row. Ate at Beihai recently and it was good.

MeiyeN & Lotsofcravings: Haha, yes, the eggs were perfect…now, if only I ate egg yolks…
Pinkelle: I tried to push my luck and asked hubby if he could serve me breakfast in bed…LOL…should’ve seen the dirty look I got!
Zewt: Ya lor…no pics coz I forgot to bring my camera. Yup, Saturday was no work and all play!
Boo_licious: Aha! Thanks for coming to the rescue. Yes, the one we went to was Beihai…
The seafood was good, but the pork wasn’t. Some even commented that the meat was so tough it tasted like wild boar…

Lotsofcravings: Dunno la…the yolk is just so mushy mushy…
Anyways, there are alot of things I don’t eat (I pick all the peas out of my fried rice, for example!), that’s why I’ll never qualify as a proper foodie…
