A make-up and book binge
*** Taking a break from blogging about food ***
I’d been wanting to get some new make-up stuff and I finally decided to head to Midvalley this afternoon…but not before SMS-ing the make-up guru, Geekchic…”Hey…quick question. Bobbi Brown vs. Shu for eye makeup…what’s yr pick?:-)”
Shu, I was told. So Shu it was!
I spent nearly two hours at the Shu Uemura counter where make-up artist, Kevin, patiently showed me how to apply eye shadow, eye liner and mascara. Yes, I can self-learn how to install and tweak Wordpress plugins, but give me a palatte of eye shadow and an eye liner and I’m as helpless as a lost kitten…*purr*…
Anyways, the result of the Kevin’s hard work resulted in a gaping hole in my wallet.
Here’s what I got:
1. Luminizer
2. Brow pencil
3. Eyeliner
4. Lengthening mascara
5. Four eyeshadows in purple, brown, beige and black and a limited edition case to store said eyeshadows
6. Shu Uemura’s Lavender scented Depsea Water
7. Limited edition lip gloss palette
8. UV Under Base

And while I was there, I dropped by MPH to browse around, and ended up buying a whole stack of books and mags…

As you can see, my reading habits are somewhat varied… ![]()

LOVE THE MAKEUP. Apparently the eyebrow pencil is not something you sharpen on your own. (check with Pink Elle) you leave it at the Shu counter and they will sharpen it for you using their own sharpener or something. FOC for life.
I can already imagine how to use all 4 colours. LOVELY. Eyeliner how?

Geekchic: Ya, the guy at the counter told me to bring it back to them to sharpen…
The colours…he used the beige and purple on my eyes today, it looked nice! Actually, it looks more like pink, purple, silver and black lar. Anyways, ya, pink and purple on my eyes today. And the silver and black can be used separately or together. Other than that, I have no idea how to mix-and-match, so it’s gonna be alot of trial and error…
As for the eyeliner…boyyy…this is gonna take alot of practice!

u bought a thesaurus? and idioms??
to read the golden compass with?
i bought the trilogy last weekend too
finished 1&2. will start the 3rd one now. mrs. coulter is positively evil and she has dark hair in the book but nicole kidman has golden hair, but for some reason i don’t find that annoying (that the movie doesn’t follow the book) because she looks so good in the movie!
ok, that was like, the longest comment i’ve ever posted here.

Yes, yes! Shu’s the best!! I can already imagine how nice those colours would looks! A bit smokey no? Did he sharpen the pencil for you before you left? I find that when I use it everyday, it gets blunt quite fast so gotta sharpen quite often and I never fail to get a heart attack when I see how much they take off when they sharpen it!
How’s the eyeliner? I’m looking for a good one. My present one always makes one eye look bigger than the other
or maybe it’s cos I don’t know how to use it! Heh…

Ec: The lipcolor palatte is RM120, the case for the eyeshadow is RM40, the eyeshadows are RM65 each…
I love Dior stuff (even though I’ve never tried it) coz it looks soooo nice!
Citygal: Hiya! Nvm…I’m sure there are alot more flogger meets coming up where we can meet…
Haha…trust me, I’m a beginner too…
Pinkelle: Yup, they sharpened the pencil for me and told me the correct way to use and hold it so that it wouldn’t break. I haven’t tried the eyeliner by myself yet, but I like how the make-up artist used it on my eyes…really gave it some much needed definition!
Msfairface: Hmm…no exact shades…the receipt just said purple, brown, beige and black…LOL!
Ya, I love the Lavender the most out of all the scents too! The Chamomile is nice, but I’m afraid I’ll smell like a cup of tea if I use it…
