Food writer wanted…

Sat, 11 Aug 2007, 10:57 am

I saw this ad in The Star yesterday (or was it two days ago?), and a good friend even sms-ed me to tell me about it.

I replied…

“A food writer? Me? The person who can’t take chilli, doesn’t eat red meat, don’t drink wine? :)”

Reply was that maybe I could specify, probably in my contract…”No red meat, no wine, no milk/cream…”

To which I replied…”Then I think the reply will be: No job!”…

Seriously though, while I would really love to try for it, my fussiness towards food is a big step to overcome. Furthermore, considering my description for food is pretty much limited to: Good, nice, not nice, yummy, yucky, really nice, really good….doesn’t bode well for a position which is advertised as:

It goes without saying that you must possess a formidable command of the English language.

Anyways, to all you other food bloggers out there, why not give it a try? I can think of a few floggers that write extremely well! The ad appeared again in today’s Star Jobs, page 18. Closing date: August 25, 2007. And you can hire me as a food photographer if you get the job…

You may be right about your fussiness about food.. but if not you with a formidable command of english (one who scored A1 in 1119), then who has (a formidable command of english)?

I think you will be a very outstanding food photographer. Ur pic looks very impressive. I like it very much. Hope you will find the job that suit you the best.

Oh, you’d be perfect for the job. Plus, they save the cost of one photographer too.

Boo_licious: Haha…after all, I can always enlist the help of the other food bloggers when it comes to red meat, right?

Tsu Lin: Aiyoh…so many people got A1 in 1119…

Choonie: Hiya…thanks very much for your compliments! I’m still learning, plus my photos undergo alot of Photoshop… …but it’s a fun hobby nevertheless!

Lyrical Lemongrass: I think I’ll get my a$$ fired when the first review I turn in goes something along the lines of “…while I didn’t try the beef, lamb, venison or the curry, nor the stir-fried brinjals and sambal petai, I have to say that the rice tasted extremely good…”…

Something to say?
