What a mess

Sat, 22 Mar 2008, 11:01 pm

My blog is so messed up it’s not funny. Individual posts are giving errors, plugins aren’t working…*pulls hair*

Am off to Bali tomorrow for a week, hopefully I’ll have time to fix everything when I get back!

Would like to type more, but I got this disgusting papercut on my index finger this morning and the bright blue Superman plaster that I slapped on to keep the cut from splitting isn’t helping much…>.<…owwwieee.

Ok, gtg pack, ta!

Hunt down them Moo eggs

Sat, 15 Mar 2008, 12:40 am

Those of you who have read my old posts may remember that I’m quite a fan of Moo cards. Well, in conjunction with Easter, Moo has been running a brilliant marketing campaign with some partners called the Moo Egg Hunt.

mooegghunt

Moo’s Egg Hunt takes place on the www, and clues are provided twice daily at 7pm and 1am M’sian time. The clues will take you a-hunting around Moo’s website, Flickr, Etsy, and some of the other partners that they’ve paired up with. Some eggs are easy, and some are hard (pun not intended)…some REALLY require some serious brain greasin’, I kid you not!

The FINAL TWO clues will be out tonite (or rather, tomorrow morning)…I’m just rubbing my hands in anticipation even though I haven’t even managed to solve this evening’s super hard 7pm clue…

Temporary tattoos

Mon, 10 Mar 2008, 01:00 am

By the way, this was too good not to share. Did anyone catch Reggie Lee’s comic a few days ago on the indelible ink thingy? I’m too lazy to scan a picture so you can go over here to take a look at it, but for those with carpal tunnel syndrome who are too lazy to click, the comic basically shows two signs on a beach saying something along the lines of:

Temporary Tattoo (Indelible ink). Last Two Weeks. No Pin. No Pain. No Pierce. Compliments from EC.

I burst out laughing the minute I saw it.

People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.

Crap. Have I not been writing so long that my own website decided to delete my half-written post and kick me out?

Here we go again.

*************************************

I was never interested in politics, much lest Malaysian politics. I never even bothered to register to vote when I was eligible, and when I finally did, I wondered why I bothered…

Then I started reading the more ‘politically skewed’ blogs. I read about what the mainstream papers weren’t telling us. I followed the news and updates on the Bersih rally. And I got royally pissed off by how one-sided the mainstream papers were when it came to the election campaigning…hello, are there no impartial newspapers here?!? And the arrogance, the sheer arrogance of a certain party, of certain people just ticked me off.

And I realized that I was one of those people: the ones who complain yet do not vote for a change, always thinking that my vote wouldn’t matter, BN would definitely win, etc.

Well, I’m so glad I got off my arse and voted (although I very almost didn’t). Never again will I believe that one vote doesn’t count.

I spent Saturday night breaking in a new mahjong set with hubby and my dad at my parent’s place. The minute we came through the door, I heard my dad on the phone with my uncle who was informing him that BN had just lost Penang. And from that moment onwards, news started to trickle in…through SMSes and phone calls from friends (TV and internet was sadly very very slow on updates!). And all the messages and calls continued in the same vein…PJ Utara is lost! Samy Vellu lost! Lembah Pantai is lost! Opposition just won Selangor!

Talk about people’s power! Malaysians, not Chinese, Malays or Indians…but MALAYSIANS have truly spoken, and I’m so so happy that I was a miniscule part of it.

Imagine, just imagine what this means. IF the Opposition rises up and meets the challenge, IF they deliver the promises they have made (and I hope, I really really hope they do)…just imagine what kind of results the NEXT election may bring? March 8 makes me feel like we are at the precipice of a big big change in the political landscape of Malaysia. I truly hope that, going forwards, there will be change for the better. We have placed our hopes with the Opposition, and it would be bitterly disappointing if we were let down.

On March 8, I felt truly truly proud to be Malaysian.

On another note, a big thank you to everyone who has left messages on my blog which I haven’t replied… …and hugs to those who even bothered to check back to see if I’ve started blogging regularly again. Urm…I haven’t. Started blogging regularly again, I mean. But this (the election results) was just too exciting that I had to write it out of my system, so to speak.

Oh oh…and I know my whole blog’s in a mess. Links aren’t working, etc. Somebody upgraded the server and suddenly, my plugins don’t work, I’m getting CGI errors wtf, and since I wasn’t blogging, I really didn’t bother to fix it. Yes yes, I’m a lazy pig, I know. Sorry sorry.
