Eat and sleep

Thu, 19 Jun 2008, 10:27 pm

What have I been doing these few days?

Eating and sleeping. That’s all. I kid you not.

This precious baby has really sapped my energy to a point where I could probably just curl up in bed all day…if not for the overwhelming hunger! Picture this…I had wan tan mee this morning at around 10am. Went to sleep not long after that. Woke up at 1.30pm with a growling tummy…to a point where I was literally shaking coz I was so famished. Had rice, broccoli and soup that my mom cooked (was at my parent’s place…good food!). Caught up with some office work in the afternoon. Had an orange mid afternoon, followed by two slices of bread with jam and margarine. By 7pm, I was hungry as a horse. And it’s now 10.30pm and I can feel that familiar gurgle in my tummy again. Luckily mom packed soup and noodles for me to bring home. And if I weren’t doing some work this afternoon, I probably would’ve toddled off to bed again for an afternoon nap.

It’s all good when I’m not working, but what happens next week when my MC ends? How am I going to have the energy to wake up early in the morning and keep myself awake throughout the working day? The fatigue is not the type that hits you when you haven’t had enough sleep the night before. It’s the type that just drives you to your knees…or rather, bed…it’s a feeling of overwhelming tiredness like someone just threw a large heavy blanket over you and stuffed your head with cotton wool and all you can do is just give in and sink thankfully into a dreamless sleep….
