Still on medical leave
Yes people, I’m still on medical leave. It’s been 3 weeks now, and I’ve just been to the gynae and she has given me yet another week’s rest. In fact, she fixed me with a stern stare and said…”We have to come to an understanding that you will not be going back to work until the bleeding stops”…
And yes, the bleeding hasn’t stopped. It varies between bleeding and spotting and brown discharge, but it’s there, constantly, every day. I’ve become increasingly stressed everytime I go to the toilet because I don’t know whether I’ll find blood, blood clots or what-have-you.
I’m also getting increasingly stressed because I know work is piling up in the office, I have a new staff that came in last week that I haven’t even met yet, and I have two staff who will be leaving after completing their 6 months stint here and I won’t be back in time for the handover. And I don’t know how to tell my boss that I’m on yet another week of medical leave.
The good thing about the medical leave is that I get to rest at home, and oh, I so need it right now. I’m feeling really tired and just want to sleep the day away, yet every time I go to sleep, I probably nap for about an hour or so only before waking up with a growling tummy.
Other updates on the pregnancy is my weird aversion for certain food. I can’t think of chicken thigh without wanting to throw up. I can’t stomach the sight of big pieces of meat - pork, chicken, beef, whatever. I’ve been craving for spicy and sour food…just the other day, I told hubby I wanted to eat fish head curry for dinner. I rarely crave for spicy food, so I know this is definitely a pregnancy thingy. Hubby said it’s probably because I don’t have much appetite for anything, and spicy and sour food probably helps with the appetite.
I don’t want to eat plain white rice, but I can eat rice if there’s some sauce on it - curry, soy sauce, black sauce. I’ve gotten over my craving for soup - no more soup…*gag gag*!! I was really really craving for asam laksa (a sourish spicy fish broth with noodles, pineapples, mint, ginger flowers, cucumber) last Wednesday, so dear hubby brought me out to Ming Tien food court at 11pm so I could buy a packet home to eat. And this weekend, I really really wanted sausages and bacon…that was easily satisfied with a Jarrod n Rawlins fry-up on Saturday morning (although, if I were to be honest, I actually wanted Jackson’s hot dogs!).
Other than that, no other strange food cravings. Hunger is ever present…almost every hour, so the kitchen is now well stocked with fruits, biscuits and juice.
Am just hoping the bleeding stops…
