I first read about Sid’s Pub on Lyrical Lemongrass’s website, but only got around to trying it over the past weekend.

Hubby and I dropped by last Saturday afternoon for lunch, and boy, am I glad we did! The decor and ambience of the place really reminded us of an old English pub, and the menu…well, it has porky pork! ‘Nuff said!

I ordered a pork burger with bacon and eggs, and hubby had the all day breakfast platter which consisted of bacon, sausages, eggs, baked beans, toast, mushrooms, french fries and a grilled tomato. If I remember correctly, both our orders were priced at RM28 each, which was pretty reasonable.

My pork burger was absolutely delicious. The patty was juicy and cooked to perfection, and went extremely well with the lightly toasted buns, bacon, eggs and french fries. I truly enjoyed every mouthful! Hubby also gave his breakfast platter a thumbs-up…he said it tasted exactly like the breakfast fry-up at our student union cafeteria back when we were studying in the UK.

I would love to go back there for their Sunday roast - although I don’t eat beef, the thought of the Yorkshire pudding makes my mouth water! The menu is quite comprehensive, ranging from sandwiches to burgers, snacks such as Pigs in a Blanket to main meals like Pork Vindaloo. I think the only drawback for me is that I didn’t see a non-smoking area…sigh…I know, I know, it’s supposed to be a pub, but I do so hate inhaling second-hand smoke…even more so when I’m preggers.

Anyways, do give it a try if you happen to be in the area! I would definitely go back there for the all day breakfast…I think it’s better than Jarrod & Rawlins (slightly burnt, ridiculously priced), and definitely better than La Bodega (oily all over, no pork). However, I think they only open from 11am or 12 noon onwards…not a problem for a lazy, love-to-snuggle-in-bed person like me, though!

PS: No photos coz my dSLR keeps on bumping into my very pregnant belly… …so I didn’t bother to bring it along!

yeah, there was this article on places where doggies are allowed. there’s one in Plaza Damas, 2 in TTDI and maybe one or 2 more in the city. wonder how my dog will behave.

Great place for ‘mat salleh’ not for locals. Rude waiter Mark (indian). Must be some sort of gangster.
