BPA-free baby food processors?

Mon, 06 Jul 2009, 03:04 pm

Elena will be starting solids in another 2 weeks time. I’ve bought BPA-free spoons and bowls for her…but I’ve overlooked one tiny thing…

What do I use to puree her food for her? Most of the blenders and food processors I’ve come across are made with plastic and are not BPA-free (at least, it’s not explicitly stated that it’s BPA-free). It seems pointless to go BPA-free on all her milk bottles yet blend her food with apparatus that are not BPA-free.

So, mom’s out there…any suggestions on what you use? Or am I being too anal over this? I would really love to hear your opinions on this…

i bought the BPA-free spoons and bowls for my son too, and use only the brand Philip Braun hand blender to blend the food/fruits that i have steamed it. I bought this blender a year ago but never use it before..and although is a plastic one, but i think as long as we clean it thoroughly ..it should be ok to use..

I have the same braun hand blender. I use it to blend porridge & veggie. Just avoid using the blender on hot porridge.

I use the Philips hand blender but I dont use the beaker that came with it to hold the food. Just used a porcelain/ glass bowl/container
