Who is sooyin?
I’ve really got to create a new ‘About me’ page. For now, though…I think I’ll just stick with the one I wrote back in…err…2004, amended accordingly.
I’m an only child (I knew that was what I wanted since I was really young…don’t like to share, you see…
). I’m very close to my parents. Had a great childhood. Lots of piano, violin and organ lessons. Maths lover. Number cruncher. Bookworm. Wore horrible pink plastic specs at 12…
In an ideal world…
I would own a cafe + bookshop + overall cool hangout. Would be able to converse in Japanese and French and possibly Italian. Would be a pro in yoga ie. able to touch my head to my knees while standing up (flexibility is not one of my strong points…sighhh….). Would have read really interesting and thought-provoking books. Would have stayed a month doing nothing in Australia, Italy and France. Each. Would have been to Banyan Tree in Maldives. Would have married a wonderful guy. Would be staying in an interior-designed home that is minimalist in design yet look as comfy as a Balinese spa. Would have a dog, preferably a beagle Miniature Schnauzer, probably named Odie ??? and a cat named Garfield.
Reality bites!
I’m currently a data-mining analyst at an international bank. I’ve procrastinated in taking Japanese classes, but hey…I did buy a tape to learn French! Italian? What Italian? I’m really bad at yoga ie. just about able to touch my toes (did I happen to mention I’m really not flexible?). However, I have read plenty of historical romance storybooks and recently shifted to slightly though-provoking contemporary romances. Have stayed a max of 7 days in Italy, Australia and France. Combined. Sadly, have only managed to go to Banyan Tree via their website. All is not lost though….I’m married to a really wonderful guy, staying in a partially interior-designed apartment that at times looks minimalist (when I decide to do some housework..), has bathrooms that does look like a Balinese spa (at certain angles). No dogs named Odie, much less a beagle. I did have a cat named Max…but had to give him away…*sniff sniff*…
Ok ok, life has been pretty good to me on the whole…nothing much to complain about…
My online Bazi reading says:
You’re a Yang Fire person. Generous and stable. A person of principle and it takes quite some effort for people to change your mind on opinions and thoughts. Secretive by nature and you protect your privacy very well. You have high standards and easily tire of things. you have a deep fascination and interest in esoteric and metaphysical topics such as feng shui, spiritual beliefs and paranormal things. A major procrastinator!
And my close friends say…
WS:
She’s friendly to people she likes, an extremely generous friend, hardworking when doing the things that she enjoys and smart. On the flip side, she’s homely, rather opinionated, too skinny (must eat more!), may come across as flighty, and cold to people she doesn’t like.
J:
She’s sweet with a capital S….so caring and she always takes the initiative and the trouble to make sure that everyone’s birthday is celebrated in style… even if it triggers the fire alarm and sprinkler in the office. One hell of a dessert eater! She will only touch things that are fattening and pass the rest - which is about 95% of the entire dish - to her hubby when she has tasted and certified that it is safe for consumption. She’s like my other sis…allows me to sleep on a sofa (yeah…her house has only 1 master bed and 1 master bedroom)… and she gives me her warm blanket and her amazingly huge Eeyore as companions throughout the dark and scary nights whenever i am around to be the “Christmas tree”! My Mary Poppins lunch partner who cannot be seen without her red frilly brolly and she just hates 5th floor food at Citi so she either “forces” her hubby to drive all of her friends out or to get takeaway food for us.
