Close all the roads, why don’t ya?

Fri, 23 Mar 2007, 10:07 pm

One of the things I absolutely detest about working smack right in the middle of KL is the frequent road closure. We experienced it really often when we were working in Citi, and again in the past few days when some of the roads we use to get to work were closed for some police day parade practice whatchallitohyesabigwasteoftime thing.

I was absolutely fuming about it yesterday evening when all the roads were totally jammed up near my office. Hubby took one plus hour to reach my office to pick me up, and it took another hour to reach home. It usually takes less than half an hour. The worst thing was that traffic was practically at a standstill with selfish motorists running the red lights and blocking the oncoming traffic. Buses were not moving and were emitting noxious amounts of icky smoke. Everyone had their hands on their car horn, ready to honk anyone and everyone. It was ridiculous!

So…why weren’t there any traffic police to help ease the congestion? If they could wake up early enough to close all the roads thus causing further congestions on other roads as people tried to make their way into KL to work so that we can contribute more to the taxman and not forgetting to the EPF so that they can invest our money in a bank, surely they could’ve spared one hour or so in the evenings to help sort out the mess which we so lovingly call our KL traffic?

Who are these people that we are electing?

This is what I call generalization. Courtesy of a link through Screenshots. Read and be alarmed.

PS: I made the whole thing up. I’m a liar, a liar! Hur hur.

Edit: Have cut and pasted the full version below…
