You’re a little vain, but more than anything you have a healthy amount of confidence. Thinking the world of yourself is great. Just don’t think less of those who aren’t as pretty as you!

How Vain Are You?

Pinkelle tagged me on this yonks ago, and even before doing the test, I knew I would definitely score > 50% coz I know how vain I am…

1. You check out your reflection in windows - Always. I’m attracted to all reflective surfaces…

2. Your closet is chock full of the latest styles, even if your credit card suffers for it a little - Rarely. Well, my closet is quite chock full, but not with the latest styles. I buy what I like and what suits me instead of following the trend all the time. But my credit card definitely suffers!

3. You buy tons of personal care products, from expensive moisturizers to specialty shampoo - Often. La Mer? ‘Nuff said!

4. You dream of being a movie star or model - Sometimes. Hey, everyone’s allowed to dream…hehe…

5. If you started to lose your looks, your self esteem would likely suffer - Often. Well, if you don’t feel good about yourself, like on a bad hair day, wouldn’t your self esteem suffer too?

6. If you weren’t happy with your looks in some way, you would consider cosmetic surgery - Rarely. I would go as far as braces and Lasik. I should’ve gone for braces when I was young, kinda regret it now!

7. You wear designer underwear - Never. I rather spend my money on what I wear outside…

8. Besides showering, it takes you at least 20 minutes to get dressed and primped for the day -Always. One hour. I need ONE HOUR.

9. You enjoy getting your picture taken - Often. Only when it’s not a bad hair day.

10. If you see someone of your gender who is hot, you immediately start silently critiquing them - Sometimes. Yeah, I’m bitchy like that….

So…seven facts about me that you probably never wanted to know anyways, but now that you do, it’ll suck up some of your precious brain cells…

1. I’m a classic example of a person born in the cusp of Cancer-Leo. I constantly swing from feeling like I want to be a super-ambitious, high-flying career woman to wanting to be a stay-at-home mom.
2. I’m not creative. I’m good at expanding ideas, improvising, but ask me to come up with something on my own? You’ll be better off waiting for a pig to fly.
3. I chose my university course (Civil Engineering) through a process of elimination. I knew I didn’t want to do A, B, or C, and when I finally narrowed it down, I was left with Z, so Z it was! Well, something along those lines lah.
4. I can finish a ‘normal length’ storybook in a few hours.
5. I don’t eat food that sound or look funny. Like brinjal.
6. I once got banged by a bus. Wait, that didn’t sound right. My car got hit by a bus once. Till this day, I still maintain that the traffic light was faulty. Nobody believes me though.
7. I have three stitches on my chin. I’ll leave you to figure out how that happened.

What five beauty products could you not live without?
1. Shu Uemura eyelash curler. I’ll still curl my eyelashes even if I go out with no make-up whatsoever…

2. Crème de la Mer. I can go without my toner, essence, etc., but I’ve gotta have this one!

3. Facial wash - definitely a must! Would you wash your face with hand soap? I thought not…

4. Vaseline - I hate having dry and flaky lips, so I apply Vaseline on my lips every night before I go to sleep.

5. Hmmm…can’t think of anymore, but if pressed, I would probably say whitening essence, coz I’m fair and I get freckles easily!

What’s the worst beauty mistake you’ve made?
Probably the same beauty mistake that most people make…pressing a pimple that I should’ve left well alone and watching it flare up like Mt. Krakatou!

What’s your skincare regime consist of?

Step 1, cleanse with SKII facial wash
Step 2, apply toner
Step 3, apply Whitening Essence
Step 4, moisturize with Creme de la Mer
Step 5 (morning), protect with SPF 18 UV protection fluid
Step 5 (night), pamper eyes with eye balm
And once a week, exfoliate using la Mer’s The Refining Facial.

Favourite beauty treat?
I previously used SKII’s Facial Treatment mask every week, but then I got lazy (and there’s still a couple more sitting in the fridge). Right now, the beauty treat that I always look forward to is my Friday night scrub using la Mer’s The Refining Facial. It contains fermented acidic sea muds which doubles as a mask, and the polished sea quartz and diamond powder leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and soft!

What’s your favourite beauty store?
Well, many of the cosmetics and skincare counters are always found inside a shopping centre like Jusco, Metrojaya, Parkson…and I don’t use products from MAC, Bodyshop, etc. which has standalone stores, so I suppose my answer would be…none!

Favourite budget brand?
Not a favourite per se, but I do use, and like, Maybelline’s mascara…

Favourite premium brands?
Armani considered premium brand ah? I use their sheer cream blusher…me likey!

And what about skin care: Favourite premium and budget brands?
Premium: La Mer, coz everything that I’ve bought from this brand simply works!
Budget: Hmm…I usually go all out for a particular brand when it comes to skin care, and currently, all my skin care products are either La Mer or SKII, so no budget brands at the moment.

And hair care?
Currently using K-Pak shampoo and conditioner by Joico. The conditioner has a banana-ish smell that I totally love coz it remains me of being at the beach.

What’s your ‘every girl must own one’ item?
Hmmm…for me, it’s a toss-up between a good moisturizer vs. UV protection cream. Considering how bad UVA/UVB rays are to the skin, I would have to say the latter. After all, some of these creams can double up as a moisturizer anyways! Oh…that, and an umbrella…

And finally, best beauty tip?
Haha…like Le Geeque said…this is easy! Drink lots and lots of water, and stay out of the sun!
