…reaching out to touch you, i can feel so much, since i found you…looking through the eyes of love…
After watching Torvill & Dean’s video on Paris’s website, I was reminded of an ice skating show that’s an oldie but a goodie…
Does anyone remember that show? I remember watching it when I was young and falling absolutely in love with the theme song, Through the Eyes of Love. And being so young and impressionable, I of course decided that I wanted to be an ice skater too…
I found the video above on YouTube (doncha just love YouTube?!?) and watching Lexie’s final performance and hearing that haunting song just gives me goosebumps all over again!
Talk about strolling down memory lane!
Ok, so I made the mistake of admitting to *some people* on Facebook that I had a huge crush on MacGyver when I was young. Sheesh, you’d think *some people* never had a teenage crush before…
I used to look forward to Monday nights (that’s when it was showing on telly) to watch the show. Unfortunately, my organ classes were also on Monday nights, so I had to record the show and watch it after class. And sometimes, the wonky tape recorder failed to work (don’t ask me why, maybe it needed some MacGyver magic!)…you should’ve seen how disappointed I was whenever I reached home to find out that the show wasn’t recorded!
I absolutely loved how he could get himself out of sticky situations with his ingenious inventions and his trusty Swiss Army knife. And of course, I drooled over his rugged good looks…
And oh boy, how I hated Murdoc, that can-never-die assassin…he scared the beejeebers outta me! I never got to watch the final episode though…thanks to that stupid tape recorder!
And yes, like most kids who grew up watching MacGyver, I can play the theme song on the piano…
Even now, hearing the theme song still makes me smile!
Anyways, while I was reading through Wiki, I found this…a MacGyver MasterCard ad! Priceless!
So, how bout you people out there? Any secret teenage crushes you would like to reveal, hmmmm? ![]()
So, for those of you who wanted to see pics, my Saturday lunch looked like this:
Back bacon, streaky bacon, sausages, eggs, mushrooms and french toast (not shown)

And to suck up all the oil that are about to consume, some veg (which we didn’t eat in the end!)…

After washing up, we headed over to hubby’s friend’s apartment at Mont Kiara for an afternoon of mahjong! It’s been a loooooong time since I played…and it showed. Yes, I lost lar, what else? Hubby won though…hehe…I think the place he sat got good feng shui!
At 8pm, we headed out to Selayang for dinner. I have absolutely no idea where the place is and what the restaurant is called…all I can remember is that the restaurant is next to a shop where you can buy fresh seafood, and then they’ll bring it over to the restaurant to be cooked any way you want it. No piccies coz I forgot to bring my camera along. Besides, we were so hungry by the time the food arrived that I doubt I would’ve had a chance to take any photos…
Anyways…we had…
That soupy-soup thingy with salted vege and fried fish, salt and pepper fried eel, seong tong lala (if you want to be posh, it’s actually called American Clams), cheese baked oysters, fried fish with ginger and spring onion (this was really good!), crabs with fried minced garlic and chilli, fried lotus root and snowpeas, stewed pork feet, steamed prawns and fried rice.
No, don’t fall off your chairs yet. There were 10 of us sharing the food.
Then again, all 10 of us were groaning and rubbing our tummies by the end of the meal…
Total bill came up to around RM500, ie. RM50 per person. Doesn’t seem that expensive for so much food, right? However, the raw seafood only costs around RM250. Minus off the rice, veg and pork…looks like we were charged almost RM200 just for the cooking bit! Well, can’t really complain though, since the food did taste really good…
Watched it? Rate it!

I wasn’t looking forward to watch this movie, and as expected, I came out of the cinema feeling like I wasted another 1.5 hours of my life (not like I had anything better to do, but doing nothing was infinitely better than sitting through this movie).
I found the movie very kiddish, the dialogue felt forced, and what’s with Jessica Alba and her perma-tan? She looked like Malibu Barbie, and I don’t mean that in a good way. There was no emotion in the acting, and some lines sounded downright cheesy.
The first Fantastic Four was bad enough, this second one is downright lousy.
