Hong Kong: The flight

Mon, 26 Feb 2007, 10:45 pm

Isn’t it weird that when land meets sea…the clouds disappear?
nk_001.jpg

The good:

1. A three hour flight is just nice…not too long, and not too short. Yes, there’s a ‘too-short’ flight…ie. those where you spend more time in the airport than on the plane!
2. The in-flight show on the way back to KL was The Queen.

The bad:

1. The flight was delayed both to AND from HK!
2. The food absolutely sucked. The fish didn’t taste fresh (going there), and the air stewardess said the meal wasn’t spicy but I opened the foil cover to find black pepper chicken (coming back)…I mean, come on…pepper IS spicy, k? ;-)
3. On the way back, I glanced at the roof of the plane above my window seat, and the corner where the ‘wall’ and the ‘roof’ met was covered with some black stuff that looked like soil. It looked like it ran the whole length of the cabin. Secret government biological experiments on hapless passengers perhaps? Hmm….
4. I didn’t manage to watch the movie on the way back cause the sound was really bad!

The ugly:

1. The toilets…my goodness, it’s like the people who came to M’sia to visit not only brought back souveniers, but M’sian toilet habits as well. The floor was wet, there was urine splattered on the seat of the toilet and ewwwww…a stray curly-wurly hair as well!
2. One screaming kid on the way to HK and two crying babies on the way back. The kid was so loud and sounded so obnoxious that I told hubby…at a certain point, I want to strap a parachute to him and push him out the plane! Hubby’s answer was alot more sarcastic, I can tell you that! The babies weren’t so bad…the funny thing was that one cried, then the other one cried louder…it was like a competition!!

Coming up: The hotel!

Eww about the toilets!! I can’t imagine how come people can make it so dirty on a short haul flight!! And why the flight attendants didn’t clean it up!!

Oh and I totally recommend getting a pair of noise-canceling headphones when you go on flights because it not only makes the sound so much better, it at least makes the words audible!! And best of all, you won’t have to deal with crying babies while watching your movie!!

OMG are you serious about the toilet?! grossssss……….you should write in and complain, maybe get a free flight ticket :)
and i like your idea about the noisy kids :P

Yeah, write in abt the toilets as they really shld do something abt it. Sounds terrible and I would have died in yr flight as I can’t stand kids screaming away.

    welcome back!

I had a horrid experience too on my flight to HK, I sat down and almost immediately, a stewardess came over to ask to see my ticket stub??!! and she also added, “miss, this is business class you know”…

I showed her my stub and also pointed out that I was seated at my DESIGNATED seat and of course I had to add, “why, I yellow skin cannot afford ah??!!” Felt much better after that and the repeated rounds of making her top up my drink!

Siongee: Ooo…noise cancelling headphones? This is the first time I’ve heard of such a thing…sounds pretty cool, actually!

Carrot, Boo_licious: Yeah…the toilets were exactly like M’sian toilets! And as for the kids…all I can say is that we were lucky it was a short flight!

Belle: Boyy…that sucks…that’s discrimination! I bet your comment really shut her up…hehehe… :-)
