Hong Kong: The food
**Photo heavy post!**
Food, glorious food!
Most people expected us to have gone shopping in HK. No, sirree…eating was what we did…and lots of it, too!
Hubby had beef noodles on our first day there…

Ooodles of egg noodles!

I had BBQ and roast pork rice…yum yum!

Hui Lau Shan, my favourite mango dessert shop in HK! It’s a chain, so you’re definitely bound to stumble upon one! If you love ice-blended desserts, mango puddings…this is definitely the place to try. Every branch that we go to is full of people and buzzing with activity! One cup of mango with aloevera jelly and mango pieces will set you back HKD20…but it’s worth it!

Portugese Egg Tart

Red bean in some sticky paste which is fried on the outside (those white round thingies on the second shelf). I absolutely loved this when I was in UK, couldn’t find it back in M’sia…so imagine my joy when I saw it being sold in HK!

McDonalds Pork Curry Burger…specially for CNY perhaps?

Krispy Kreme donuts!

We went to Sweet Dynasty, a restaurant along Canton Road (address coming soon, I’ve gotta go find the receipt!), for dinner…

I had the BEST tau foo fa (soya beancurd) E.V.E.R….

Porridge with bird’s nest, scallops and abalone

Steamed cheong fun with roast pork

Braised vege with mushrooms

We also went to this dessert shop at Langham Place @ Mongkok called Mun Kei Tim Pan (4th and 10th floor), which was introduced to us by my ex-boss who is a regular visitor to HK, where we had…

Red bean…err…jelly thingy….

Black sesame paste with glutinous rice ball

And believe it or not…tau foo fa with mango! T’was extremely good!

We had lunch at Macau Cafe where hubby had pigeon, chicken wings, and all sorts of roasted meat!

while I ordered noodles with Chui Chow porkballs…

And of course, I had to have my favourite roast pork bun…in fact, it was the very first thing we ate as I found a bakery in the airport selling it!

Zewt: We went to Yung Kee for lunch, actually. My husband had the roast goose…I don’t eat goose or duck or pigeon, so I gave it a miss!
Titan: Do go and eat your heart out there…
:-)
MeiyeN: Thank god we did alot of walking to burn off all the eating…hehe…
Cheekypumpkin: Actually, no…it wasn’t too sweet. I tried the original one and the one with apple filling. I actually found the latter to be abit on the sweet side. Anyways, Krispy Kreme is soooo much better than Dunkin’ Donuts!

Hi Soo Yin,
Next trip when you down to HK, you should visit the Mun Kei Tim Pan main store in Sai-gong. You can also get the nice seafood restaurant located along the Sai-gong sea side.
The best part of Sai-gong is how you get there :
1. By Sub way to ?•¬?¬©?®‚ΡΆ¬? statiton take a mini bus (green color) all the way to Sai-gong ( last stop..can’t be miss!!)
2.You can take Taxi straight from the hotel, more expensive and no fun!!
3.You can take ferry from Hong Kong but I have not try this route before so no comment.
Hope this will help!

One more thing I forget to mention is :
In a normal restaurant we usually find SMOKING and NON SMOKING AREA but in Mun Kei Tim Pan main store in Sai-gong, they separate the restaurant into :
1. Non DURIAN area
2. and DURIAN area
The reason: some of the customer can’t stand Durian smell but one of the famous dish for Mun Kei is their yummy DURIAN menu.
